This version of Pizzicato-Polka transfers the well-known Strauss miniature to a setting for three performers sharing a single marimba.
The reduction to one instrument places particular emphasis on precision, coordination and balance. Melodic fragments and accompanying figures are distributed across the three players, requiring clear articulation and refined ensemble awareness. The light, playful character of the original is preserved while the physical proximity of the performers adds a distinct visual and chamber-musical quality.
A version for Large Percussion Ensemble also exists.
