This arrangement of Franz Lehár’s waltz Gold und Silber transfers the original orchestral writing to a chamber quartet setting. The musical material is redistributed across accordion, vibraphone and two marimbas, allowing for a broader registral spectrum and a clear separation of melodic, accompanimental and inner voices.
The transcription remains largely faithful to the formal structure and harmonic language of the original, preserving the characteristic elegance and flowing momentum of Lehár’s composition while adapting its texture to a mallet-based ensemble.
A trio version also exists.
