Das Lied vom blauen Paradies originates from the operetta Ein Tag im Paradies, a musical stage work composed by Edmund Eysler with a libretto by Leo Stein and Béla Jenbach. The operetta premiered in Vienna in 1913 and features Das Lied vom blauen Paradies as one of its lyrical numbers. 

This arrangement adapts the original vocal piece into an ensemble setting for tenor voice, programmable music box, violin, violoncello and accordion. The transparent scoring preserves the melodic charm of the original while allowing the individual qualities of each instrument to contribute to a cohesive chamber texture.
