This arrangement of Arothron was conceived for an expanded ensemble built around the voice of Agnes Heginger and a hybrid acoustic–electronic sound palette.

The piece opens with a handpan introduction that establishes the atmospheric and slightly meditative character of the arrangement. The main theme first appears in a shared texture between handpan and Array mbira, supported by discreet percussion colours and occasional glockenspiel accents. The A section remains tonally grounded while maintaining a restrained and spacious character.

The B section introduces a more defined harmonic contour, though the distinctive sound of mbira and handpan remains central. The vibraphone adds a new textural layer, subtly widening the sonic spectrum.

An extended vocal improvisation unfolds over the established texture, underpinned by a low Moog synthesiser that provides a stable bass foundation. This is followed by a vibraphone solo, during which the Styrian accordion enters with sustained, almost pad-like sonorities. The solo leads back into a da capo of the A and B sections.

The arrangement concludes by gradually reducing the texture to a repeating vamp, over which the music gently fades out.
