Languages, dialects and traditions form the conceptual background of Common Grounds. Four musicians with distinct musical backgrounds and stylistic preferences are united by a shared search for groove and collective sound. Tribal Dialects moves at the intersection of jazz, minimal structures, ethnic traditions and subtle electronic influences.
Founded in 2013 by Grilli Pollheimer and Patrick Dunst, the ensemble developed its musical language through performances across Europe and beyond, drawing inspiration from local musical idioms and cultural contexts. Common Grounds, released in 2019, reflects this ongoing exploration: a cosmopolitan blend of styles shaped by experimentation, rhythmic depth and a strong sense of ensemble interplay.
