The large percussion ensemble version expands the march into a more densely layered setting, allowing the rhythmic and timbral possibilities of a larger group to shape the texture. While the core instrumentation remains clearly defined, selected parts are marked as optional to allow flexible adaptation to different ensemble sizes.
As in the revised quartet version, a prominent solo for musical saw provides a distinctive colour within the march framework.
This version is published together with the quartet version (with optional tuba).
Trio and earlier quartet versions of the work are also available.
