This version of Kaleidoskop was arranged for a chamber music setting and is closely related to the live trio configuration (handpan, marimba, vibraphone), expanded by a fourth performer.
The additional player assumes responsibility for the polyrhythmic framework, performing multiple layers simultaneously with hands and feet. This includes activating a metronome during the vibraphone solo and integrating it into the rhythmic structure.
The formal outline remains unchanged: the quiet, metrically shifting opening, the modulatory middle section, the extended vibraphone solo over G, and the return to the reduced thematic material.
Trio and large percussion ensemble versions of the work are also available.
