22 is an original composition for solo vibraphone. The piece opens with a floating introduction built over a sustained D/F♯ harmony, establishing a spacious and slightly suspended atmosphere.
The lively main theme follows and is immediately developed through an improvisation based on its harmonic framework. This leads into a contrasting B section (bridge), where the texture becomes calmer and more restrained.
Towards the end of this section, a crescendo over a stepwise ascending bass line prepares the return of the main theme. In the closing passage, the chords of the theme are gradually reduced, allowing the piece to dissolve gently.
The work forms part of the collection Dinner for Two and is recorded on the album Alle Jahre Vibra.
